He had courage, determination and strength of heart above all other qualities. He was the most accomplished dueller of his time and an enlightened fighter against discrimination.

Born in Walpole in Norfolk, Saint Godric of Finchale died as an English hermit in Finchale in Durham. He was a Catholic saint best remembered for his kindness towards animals.
